Greetings from RSU #24,
Another school year has come and gone! It is hard to believe that summer is upon us. I would be remiss if I didn't express my sincere thanks to the RSU #24 staff members for providing the necessary support and services to our students. This group of people have had to endure a great deal of pressure while educating our students during the unprecedented pandemic. They are champions in my book.
A huge thank you for the positive support provided by way of the Budget Referendum Vote on June 14th. The RSU #24 budget was approved by a vote of 1163-430. The vote to continue using the referendum process also passed by a vote of 1104-452. On behalf of the school district, I deeply appreciate your continued support.
For those looking ahead to the start-up date for our schools, the RSU Board did adjust the school calendar to provide an additional cushion for the transition to the new building. School for our students will now start on Tuesday, September 6th. For those high school students who will be attending Hancock County Technical Center next school year, we are planning to provide transportation to the technical school upon start-up. Specifics regarding the beginning of the school year will be provided by the respective school(s).
In preparing for the new school year, those parents who have not enrolled their child(ren), please make sure that you contact the school. Timely enrollment will help to alleviate some of the stress in starting the new year at each of our schools.
I wish each of you an enjoyable summer. Thank you for your continued support of our school district.
